The first step to receive your PADI Open Water Certification starts in the classroom. Our SCUBA Classroom comfortably seats large groups of up to 8 students. We prefer smaller classes of 4 or 5 students. You may call to find out when our next classroom training is scheduled or visit our calendar. We only need three students to have a class, so if the dates on our calendar don’t work with your schedule, please give us a call and we will make it work!

The academic portion is 8-hours. You study at home for about 4 or 5 hours and with me for 3 or 4. There are 5 chapters covered in the video and the PADI Dive Manual. You’ll take four 10 question quizzes and one 50 question final exam. Before class, study ALL 5 chapters, watch the video and understand all the Knowledge Reviews found at the end of each chapter. You will take the 4 quizzes covering all chapters at the beginning of class. We will be happy to answer any questions before you take the quizzes. There are a few questions
in Chapters 4 and 5 that cover the dive tables. You may watch our YouTube videos teaching the tables or you may skip the dive table questions and study the dive computer questions. At the beginning of class, you will take 4 quizzes covering all 5 chapters. We will go over the questions you missed. You don’t have to come to class but you do have to take the quizzes and final exam.
